My training started 10 years ago, that is when I started my real estate investment career. I was so green and had no clue what I was doing. I bought the Carlton Sheets program and it was good for getting me kick started.

If you want to get involved in real estate investing you will need trained. Here is the break down of what you can do, the cost and what alternatives you will have to getting trained properly.

1) Go to your local Real Estate Investment Group. They have a lot of resources and information, plus the top investors go there and you can ask questions.

2) Find a local mentor that is not too expensive. A great mentor can get you up to speed quickly.

3) Manuals - A lot of Gurus in a specific real estate niche will sell you a step-by-step manual of How To Do A Short Sale or a Lease Option.

These courses sell for $500 or more.

4) You can buy the books in a book store that explain everything from flipping a home to landlording. The problem is, sometimes these books leave out the most important details.

5) Just do it and get out there with hustle. I made a lot of mistakes when I began.

6) The best new way to learn is through the web. The new on-line membership sites out there can get you taught about real estate investing for a great cost. Plus you have forums and discussion board.

The best way to get trained is to find a mentor that will walk you along the path.
